Roman Shades and Blinds

Roman shades and blinds offer the simple and easy function of regular vertical or horizontal blinds, with the beauty and elegance of fabric curtains.  A set of roman shades can provide ample privacy while complementing the decor of the room, and the fabric of the furniture.  The shades can be found in varying degrees of opacity, allowing more or less light, to accommodate the preference of the owner.

Roman shades are available in a variety of fabrics, and typically come in one of two styles:  The tear drop fold is a slightly ballooned fold, and the flat panel, which is exemplified by a flat fold.  To enable the shades to stand up to the elements, endure cleanings, and resist mildew, the most common fabric combination is acrylic and polyester, although finer fabrics such as silk and linen are sold as well.

The addition of custom roman shades to a room creates a rich look that is unique to the home.  Made in any shade to match the style and color palette of the room, custom shades may cost a little more, but are exquisitely designed.  Roman shades and blinds will match a traditional decor as easily as they will a contemporary home.  Lighter shades that allow light into a contemporary room offer just enough privacy and contrast to be interesting, and are an inexpensive option for window coverings.  Deeply colored roman blinds offer another layer of light an ornately decorated room that is already full of rich colors and patterns.

The best way to clean roman shades and blinds, the best method is to use a dry duster, and if necessary, a gentle vacuuming.  Feather dusters are excellent for this, and if a small hand vacuum is available, this will be easier on an expensive set of blinds than a large attachment.
