Summer Wedding Dresses For Beach Weddings

Even with all the divorces in society today, marriage is still looked upon as one of the big milestones in life. Not to forget that it is still one of the most anticipated days in a woman’s life. From early childhood she has daydreamed about the perfect wedding, with the perfect husband, and of course the perfect wedding dress. Some women don’t let go of this dream, and that is probably why we from time to time see outrageously childish wedding dresses. Most women, however, mature and when it is time to choose the wedding dress, grown up taste is the deciding factor.

A popular trend as of lately is to have the wedding ceremony on a beach. Just think about, as there aren’t many more beautiful places to say the famous words: I do! Surrounded by the fresh breeze and smell of ocean, a wedding sea side can be a romantic happening.

But having a summer wedding means you need to make some considerations as to what type of dress you should choose. Wedding dresses for the beach are a completely different animal than dresses for a more formal, traditional wedding. You need to look for something that won’t make you end up sweating to death. After, you don’t want to miss your own honeymoon.

Pay special attention to the fabric the wedding dress is made of. Most traditional wedding dresses are made of heavy fabrics, most commonly sown in several layers. These are literally furnaces when temperatures hit 70F and above.  A helpful rule of thumb is that if the dress looks like a cool, summer dress, than it probably is. Choose sleeveless over sleeves, and a short dress instead of a long.

Something many brides and grooms overlook for their summer, beach wedding, is to bring a long sun block and sun glasses. The same rules apply while getting married on the beach as sun bathing on the beach. The sun doesn’t care and will give you a nasty sun burn for your troubles.

That’s about it for this time. As a final tip, remember to follow YOUR heart when purchasing your wedding dress. Try not to bring along to large of an entourage while shopping, or the different opinions might squash your voice. You are the one getting married, not your mother in law, and definitely not your own mother.
