To say I love to cook is an understatement. Mostly because I don’t only love to cook, but I also really like food. I mean all kinds of food. I like to try new dishes, both cooking and eating. If I am in a Mexican, Indian, or other specialty grocery store, I am in heaven! So when I was able to get my new convection toaster oven and Alessi tea kettle, I was super, duper happy.
I got a Breville convection toaster oven, and it is so cool. Not only does it make perfect toast, it also can cook a 12 inch pizza. I use it all the time instead of my big oven and I think it will be wonderful when guests come at Thanksgiving and I need two ovens. But my favorite feature of all is the plate warmer. It fits two standard dinner plates on the top perfectly and so the plates are warm when the food goes to the table.
My kids also like it a lot, they are enjoying the convenience of making cheese toasties and heating up pizza that is never soggy.
The tea kettle is great too. I know a lot of people make tea in the microwave, but I find it very soothing to make it in the traditional way with a tea kettle and pot. The Alessi design by Michael Graves is absolutely iconic and is one of my favorite decorating pieces. I am so happy that I have it, because it stays out on my stove top all the time and makes me smile whenever I look at it.
I love kitchen gadgets and am really happy with these two purchases. They are beautiful and function exactly how they are supposed to. In fact, I would say they are even better than advertised. Who could ask for more than that?
