Italian Wedding Centerpieces

Most weddings are an extravagant party that nobody well ever forget. Italian weddings are something you will forget even less so you want your wedding centerpieces to be no exception. I know you are picturing “The Godfather” with the gaudy lace and frills everywhere, but that is not what most Italian weddings are about. They like to celebrate, so therefore, make it a celebration that lets everyone knows that this party was thrown by an Italian.

Although there is not any set Italian wedding centerpiece, there are many ideas that you could use that will show your Italian pride without encompassing all the lace and frills. Most Italians are all for a good time, not to mention, most of Italy is wine country. Grapes are oftentimes used as an Italian wedding centerpiece because of the relation to the country. Whether you use real or fake grapes is up to you. They come in so many colors that it won’t be hard to find something that will match your wedding colors. If you really don’t want to use grapes, then you can also use a nice looking wine bottle as a vase and place flowers in it. Something like long stemmed rose centerpieces or sunflowers, something that can sit all the way down in the bottle would be best. If it is in the budget, you can have custom labels printed for you with your names, wedding date and maybe even a picture of the happy couple.

If your family is like many other Italian families, food is a big part of your household. A cute idea to display that is to find a food can from one of your favorite Italian foods, like a can from tomato sauce or a vegetable. Make sure that it says something in Italian, whether it’s just the brand name or the type of food. The more colorful the better. Place flowers inside the cans and then at the end of the nice, people can take them home if they like.
