Is the Nintendo DS Lite an Educational Device Also?
My daughter asked and asked for an Nintendo DS Lite for her birthday. I kept ignoring her request, thinking that she’d change her mind. Well, for once, she didn’t. The reason I didn’t want to buy her this gaming device is because I thought it was nothing but a device full of mind numbing games like Mario or Pac Man.
Once I started doing more research and read some Nintendo DS Lite reviews, what I found was that although there are a lot of games like that for this gaming device, there are a ton of educational games for Kids. So I sit down with my daughter and asked her what games she wanted. Of course, she wanted some of the junky mind numbing games. I simply told her I would not buy these games and that if she wanted this gaming device, she’d have to choose some educational games.
So that night, we went online and looked at a lot of educational type games for Nintendo DS Lite. One of the ones she finally settles on is one of the Disney games with the Little Mermaid. She loves this character and after seeing the demo’s, I told her I would “think” about getting her the game console and game for her birthday.

During my research, I’d say that I found as many games that I would consider educational for the Nintendo DS Lite as I found for her Leapster. Since I loved the Leapster because of its educational games, I now feel good about buying my daughter the game.
I’m often asked, what is the difference between the Nintendo DS Lite and the Nintendo DS. As far as I can tell, the Nintendo DS Lite has a camera and the DS does not. That’s about the differences I can tell between the two games.
