So it’s Halloween or you have a play coming up or maybe there is going to be a party at that cute guy or girls house that you have been wanting to impress. You see a pair of awesome pair of non prescription colored contacts at the store that you just know will do the trick. You ask yourself if you need a prescription to wear colored contacts just once? I know you don’t want to hear this, but the answer is yes. I know you are asking why, after all they are there. They are so cool looking and you really want them.

You need a prescription to wear colored contacts once or any other contact any amount of time. The reason why is because a prescription is not just to determine if you need glass or corrective lenses. It also is a measurement of the size and shape of your eyes. This size and shape determines the fit and before you can wear contacts without risking serious damage to your eyes or possible blindness, you must make sure that they fit properly. In addition, you are not going to make much of a good impression if you are in the middle of your play or trying to impress someone and your contact falls out or even worse gets stuck up above your eyelid where you will have to excuse yourself before the daunting and painful task of digging it out. Do you think that kind of embarrassment and pain is worth it even for only once?

So even though you think you have answered your question by thinking I don’t need a prescription to wear colored contacts only once think again. It only takes one time to cause serious damage to not only your eyes, but your social status too. Don’t risk it. In the end it is not worth it.
