Rice is one of the simplest things to cook ever. There are so many different ways to cook rice. Before you start to cook your rice you need to wash it. The easiest way to do this is put your rice in a colander and rinse it several times under water. When the water comes out clear then your rice is rinsed and clean. After your rice is clean you are ready to cook it.

There are several options when it comes to cooking rice. You can buy, what is called, instant rice. All you do with that is boil some water then dump the appropriate amount of rice in the boiling water. Fluff the rice with a fork then serve.

Rice can be boiled in a couple different ways. First off is the Japanese method. You first soak your rice overnight then you bring one part of water to one part rice. So if you are cooking 2 cups of rice you need to boil 2 cups of water. After your water is boiling put the rice in and put a tightly fitting lid on the top. You now will wait till all the water is evaporated from the pan; this is usually 8-10 minutes. Then remove the pan from heat and let it sit for another twenty minutes. Just fluff the rice with a fork and serve.

The other way to boil rice is to boil 2 quarts of water to one cup of rice. This method requires you to boil a lot more water. This method also takes a lot more time.

Other ways to prepare rice is to steam it in a steamer. This method can be incredibly easy if you have a steamer. Any steamer will do for this method. Put your rice in the top pan. Add the water to the reservoir and set the timer. In about 20 minutes you will have perfectly steamed rice that has not lost any of its nutrients to evaporation.

Of course if you want perfectly cooked rice without any of the headache than you can use a micom rice cooker. This rice cooker has a built in computer that continuously monitors the pressure and temperature of the rice. This ensures you get perfectly cooked rice every time.

There are many different things you can put on your rice once it is cooked. These things include sugar, maple syrup, orange slices and the ever popular soy sauce. Rice works great as a base bed for many different meats as well.

I hope this clarifies any confusion you might have had about cooking rice. So in summary if you are in hurry use instant rice from a box. If you want to try and do it the Japanese style then soak your grains overnight. If you don’t want to think about it at all use a micom rice cooker.
