Recently, my daughter and I both went for cosmetic surgery. After doing a bit of research into different procedures, and looking at our collective $5,000 budget, we decided to stick with a well known and reliable procedure: liposculpture surgery.

This was actually a present from me, to both my daughter and I, as a way to kick in 2010 with style. What could be more exciting than giving your body a nice little liposculpture boost to get things started right?

We ended up going with thigh liposculpture, as this area of the body on myself at my old age now is not where I how I liked it. I think my daughter saw how my thighs were looking, and this scared her, even though I’m 20 years her senior. But she went for it anyway, going for the same cosmetic surgery procedure. Strength in numbers, I suppose, eh?

It’s too early to tell the results at this point, beyond noting a bunch of swelling and numbness in our thighs. But in a few weeks, we should be able to tell that this tumescent liposculpture surgery will mean our legs will simply look better. This means the skin won’t look as loose, nor will there be as much fat inside those “thunder thighs” that run in our family.

What I wasn’t expecting was some of the pain involved post surgery. Sure, they gave me medicine for this pain, but the first day or two it was quite a problem, and was very hard to do anything that involved a lot of leg movement over any extended period of time. You can imagine that this meant I felt pretty restricted!

Nevertheless, the pain is worth the gain. This is not my first cosmetic surgery (I had some eyelid surgery done 2 years ago), so I knew it wouldn’t be all peaches and cream. My daughter, on the other hand, seemed to have little of the same problems I did the first few days during recovery. Perhaps the youth do have all the advantages when it comes to a speedy liposculpture recovery, eh?
