Bunk Bed For Children Room
Children by nature love to sleep in high places and bunk beds are always a big hit with them. Whether you want to increase your floor space or you want siblings to share a bedroom, bunk beds are a good solution. Some bunk beds can often be separated and you could in the future have two side by side beds again or move one to another room, when the children are older.
Safety first when buying bunk beds for children
Some precautions must be taken when a child is going to sleep in a high place. You should never consider a high bunk for a child younger than 6 years old. Before that age the risk of falls is very high. If you have an older child who will sleep in the high bunk and a younger one in the lower bunk it is important to have a way to secure the ladder when not in use. Many bunk beds come with removable ladders to keep a small child from climbing up. Another security measure for the higher bunk is to make sure that it has side bars on all sides.
Usually a wood bunk bed will be more stable than a metal one. Choose a bunk bed that will let you choose where you will place the ladder. While may seem obvious not all beds offer this feature.
If you are considering a high platform bed in order to free some space in a smaller room, you can instead of a bed install a desk and chair, or small closets or any type of storage devices you want. Bunk beds are very practical, children love them, and teenagers enjoy the grown up look they can give to their room by moving the bed out of the way. Teens often like to put a sofa or a futon under the bed.
