Are Candle Sconces Right for Your Décor?

When you enter a home with a formal dining room, you may expect to see sconces, pronounced (scon – ces). However a nice romantic touch would be to use candle sconces. Did you know that you can turn your own home into a restaurant type setting, by purchasing candle sconces as opposed to sconces without candles? Having candles on your dining room table is ok, but may not be very romantic. That’s because candles on the table can provide unwanted, excess heat, they can disrupt the view of your dining companion and they can even spill wax in your food. You definitely don’t want that. However having candles in your sconces on the walls just behind each chair in the room be it two or four, will provide a romantic atmosphere that you will relish.

You of course don’t have to limit wall sconces to the dining room. They also work great for living room and your bedroom. A family room is also a great place for candle sconces as well. If you have young ones, they too will enjoy the fun of turning out electric lights and simply lighting candles. Using candles can save on electricity naturally while providing an ambiance that you just can’t find in a kitchen or other room with blazing lights.

There are loads of lighting stores and shops online that sell candle sconces; however you should stick to purchasing from a store that has knowledgeable sales staff. This is because you’ll need to take certain precautions when using candles in sconces. Don’t forget that you’re actually lighting a fire if you use the sconces regularly and the material that the sconces are made of, may determine how long you should burn the candles. Again someone very knowledgeable is needed to advise on what’s best for your room, decor and families needs. Decorating is fun and purchasing accessories that are a bit different can really make a room pop.
